The pre-tax profits of a Northampton-headquartered car dealership group increased in its most recent fiscal year, despite the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on business.
Bells Motor Group reported pre-tax profit of Â£ 1.4million for the year ended December 31, 2020, up from Â£ 1million in 2019.
This despite a drop in turnover from Â£ 79million to Â£ 65.7million.
Bells operates Volvo and Kia dealerships in Northampton and Bedford.
New Volvo sales fell 31.9% in 2020, while Kia sales fell 24.7%. In addition, used vehicle sales fell 17.5 percent.
