BharatBenz has built a bespoke luxury caravan for the Kerala Tourism Department, which will be used for the latter’s latest initiative – “Keravan Kerala”. The ready-to-drive motorhomes are built on the BharatBenz 1017 chassis and can be customized to accommodate 2-4 travelers.

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), the manufacturer of BharatBenz trucks and buses, has unveiled its new custom caravan for the Kerala tourism department. The ready-to-drive campervan built in collaboration with Autobahn Trucking Dealership and JCBL Group will be used for Kerala’s latest initiative, Keravan Kerala. As part of the new initiative, the Kerala Tourism Department wants to encourage the culture of camping in the state, in line with the post-pandemic travel preferences of tourists. Thus, the department has chosen with BharatBenz to build the luxury motorhome, equipped with many integrated features, and can be rented by tourists.

The luxury caravan is equipped with all modern conveniences such as reclining seats, TV, kitchenette and comfortable double bunk beds.

The luxury caravans are built on BharatBenz’s 1017 chassis and will be available in two configurations, customized to accommodate two to four travelers. Special amenities on offer include a spacious seating area and modern amenities such as reclining seats and a TV. It also has a kitchen area equipped with all the necessary appliances such as a refrigerator, microwave, induction hob and custom-made storage space for dishes. The fully air-conditioned caravan also includes comfortable double bunk beds in the bedroom and a toilet with shower.

The BharatBenz 1017 is said to offer a comfortable and safe ride thanks to its parabolic suspension, as well as a fuel-efficient BS6 engine. Bus chassis are produced at DICV’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Oragadam.
