The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has determined that countervailing duties on truck / bus tires produced in China should be reduced. The lower rates are effective December 23, when details were published in the Federal Register.

This is the second of a two-part review process for the DOC. The DOC conducts regular tariff revisions and this year reviewed the tariffs paid by tire manufacturers and traders in 2019. The agency released its preliminary results on June 25. 17.

This review only applies to countervailing duties, which are intended to offset subsidies that Chinese government entities pay to producers.

The updated CV functions are:

Prinx Chengshan (Shandong) Tire Co. Ltd. – 17.47%

Qingdao Ge Rui Da Rubber Co. Ltd. – 14.77%

Other named companies – 15.67%.
