New collaborators for DFPI Market Monitoring, Consumer Research, Insight & Analytics
The DFPI has hired Krista Christian and Dr. Paul Whiteley as Principal Researchers in the Market Surveillance, Consumer Research, Analytics and Analytics Unit within the Consumer Financial Protection Division. These positions were created under the California Consumer Financial Protection Act (CCFPL). They will be responsible for monitoring CCFPL’s consumer financial products and services, performing complex research and data analysis, and playing an instrumental role in the development of the research office.
Krista Christian comes from the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, where she was Research Data Specialist II on the Research Oversight Committee in the Office of Research. She holds a Masters of Commerce from CSU East Bay and a Bachelor of Science in Business Marketing from San Jose State University. With over 15 years of research experience, Krista brings expertise in data management systems, data quality control, performing complex data analysis using SQL and SAS extracts, effectiveness evaluation and data collection.
Dr. Paul Whiteley also comes from the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, where he was Research Data Specialist II in the Office of Research. Dr. Whiteley holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology from UC Riverside and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University Fullerton. Dr. Whiteley brings over 10 years of research experience using data analysis software and visualization tools to report outcomes for the California Department of Human Services, the private sector and the community. university.
Krista and Dr. Whiteley started Jan. 18 and will be based at the DFPI Sacramento office.
