COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio Department of Commerce has named Daphne Hawk Superintendent of the Real Estate and Professional Licensing Division.

Hawk brings more than 25 years of experience as a real estate agent to the position, which she assumed on July 18. She replaces Anne Petit, who retired in June.

“I am both honored and thrilled to be appointed to this role, and I look forward to completing some great finish line projects that were started by my predecessor,” Hawk said. “Our top priorities will continue to protect the consumer and provide convenient services to our licensees.”

Hawk previously worked for the Ohio Housing Finance Agency as a real estate relationship manager. She also served as Franklin County Archivist and Jackson Township Administrator (Franklin County).

She oversees a division that operates seven different programs that offer 45 different degrees carried by nearly 76,000 individuals and organizations that operate in Ohio. These include real estate agents, building inspectors, manufactured home dealers, cemeteries, real estate professionals and cable companies.
