The team at Oldham Volkswagen car dealership helped donate a total of £1,000 plus food to a homeless charity.
The walkathon challenge was supported by the Oldham Gym Group who provided the treadmills and Oldham PSP Meesons gift shop who provided the showroom decoration.
The Swansway Motor Group has now made a combined food and cash donation to reach out to the community which originally started as a fruit and veg stand which donated food to a homeless project and se now consists of a charity shop in Chorlton, where every penny taken is used to support the charity.
The charity shop also houses a donation depot where the team sorts through items to see what can be sold in the shop and what can be donated directly to those in need.
They also run a food bank, providing food parcels for individuals and families in need.
Stephanie Moore, Managing Director and Co-Founder of Reach Out to the Community, said: âWe would like to say a big thank you to Swansway Motor Group for their very generous donation to our food bank, we have already seen an increase in food parcels , so this donation will make a huge difference to so many people.
Commenting on the group’s fundraising efforts, Swansway Motor Group Director David Smyth said: “As part of our ongoing charitable efforts, it is crucial for all of us at Swansway Motor Group that we do our best to support families in need.
“We hope this donation can help alleviate some of the uncertainty that the coming months may bring for local families and help the fantastic organizations that provide this service.”
