The awards were were awarded at the company’s annual dealer conference, held in San Diego Last week. SunPower’s installer dealer base of more than 800 small and medium-sized businesses provided localized sales, installation and support to customers nationwide.

Intelegant – a portmanteau combining “smart” and “sleek” to represent SunPower’s smart and stylish solar solutions – sets the award for solar installation projects that exemplify the company’s commitment to aesthetics, quality, outstanding system performance and customer satisfaction. 2021 Intelegant winners include:

National Residential Award: Plug it in Solar
Plug it in Solar realized a solar storage system over 20 kilowatts in Bell Canyon, California. to create a net-zero home said to offset 123% of the homeowner’s energy consumption and designed to provide resilience against shutdowns and outages.

Regional residential winners
Dealers recognized for outstanding residential solar projects in their respective regions include:

  • AdEnergy from New Jersey for exceptional customer service and a clean installation that should offset more than 50% of the home’s energy consumption.
  • SunPower by Legacy Solar from Normal, Sick. for using the Illinois Renewable Solar Energy Credit to design an 8.5 kilowatt system for a climatologist.
  • solar hut from Northern California for the design of a complete solar home system on the Sermons Country Club golf course which is expected to provide the client with nearly $12,000 electricity savings in the first year alone.
  • Renova Energy from Palm Desert, California. for installation of a 108 panel 38kW system on a custom home in Rancho Mirage designed to provide nearly $1 million savings over the lifetime of the system.

National commercial winner: TerraSol Energies
TerraSol Energies won the National Commercial Intelegant Award for a 961 kilowatt SunPower® Helix® roof for manufacturer Phoenix Contact in Middletown, Pennsylvania. The 2,185-panel installation includes a glazed room on the roof that will be used by visitors to view the solar system up close.

Regional Commercial Winners
Dealers recognized for outstanding commercial solar projects in their respective regions include:

  • Cape Fear Solar Systems in Wilmington, North Carolina for the city’s largest single roof project: a 460 kilowatt helical roof for Coastal Beverage Company.
  • SunPower by HES Solar from San Diego, California. for a 440 kilowatt Helix Roof Solar System on Mor Home Furniture in Murrieta. The system was installed at the same time as the construction of the furniture store to improve design efficiency.
